Chair
Dr Ursula Woolley, Sessional Lecturer, Politics and Security, Department of European and International Studies, King’s College London.
Ursula Woolley is currently (2025-6) an Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in East European Politics at UCL SSEES. Her research is on memory politics and history politics in Ukraine, both as they concern politics and political culture in Ukraine and as they concern decolonisation in Ukraine’s relationship with Russia. In December 1991 she was posted to Kyiv to set up the first British Council operation there. She was a Trustee (2017-26) and Chair (2023-26) of the Ukrainian Institute London and from 2012-2016 was Director of Pushkin House in London. She received her PhD in Ukrainian Studies from UCL (2024), where she was supervised by Andrew Wilson. She received her MRes in East European Studies (Political and Social Sciences) from UCL (2018); and her BA in Modern & Medieval Languages from Clare College Cambridge (1990).
